Church Groups

This page is being developed as a “Home” page for our Church Groups and will have links to pages for the various groups, which will detail upcoming meetings, programmes of study or any other relevant material. For more information contact the named people.

Bethany Care Shelter (Contact Cherry Campbell)
During the colder months, under the auspices of the Bethany Christian Trust,  Bethany Care Shelters offer a warm welcome for the night for up to 60 homeless persons. A small core of Bethany Staff are augmented by teams of volunteers from a number of churches. Each evening a team will shop, prepare and serve a hot two course meal (including washing up!). They also buy all the provisions for the Bethany Staff to serve breakfast the next morning.  St Ninian’s raises funding and currently provides the team and the meal for two of the winter evenings. With a team of up to 10 people needed each time it helps if there is a pool of volunteers.

Coffee Hub (Contact Alison Wyllie)
Why not come and bring your friends to an informal Coffee Club which has been taking place on alternate Thursdays in the Church foyer.
I [Alison] make scones or pancakes on the premises with a homemade cake to go with it and there is plenty of coffee and tea, so drop in anytime between 10.30 and 12noon and you will be made very welcome.
There is lots of laughter, chat and discussion and we have had all age groups coming which is very encouraging.

Eco-Congregation Group

Garden Team (Contact Helen Mitchell)
An informal group of volunteers look after our grounds.  All are welcome, for any length of time.  More about the garden.

Mothers’ Union Fellowship (Contact Pat Treherne or Sheila Donaldson)

Ninian,s Nippers
Meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2.00 to 3.30pm (except Public Holidays)

Study Group (Contact Cleodie Mackinnon)
Meets on a Tuesday, usually about about once a month and covers a wide selection of themes.

Youth Group
As well as meetings within the church the group also participates in both Diocesan and Provincial youth activities.
