Theatre Workshops for ages 7 to 14

Edinburgh Theatre Arts (ETA) has been closely linked with St Ninian’s for many years. Weekly meetings and most of their performances in Edinburgh are based here. The company has kindly offered to run theatre workshops for local children in response to many requests from children and teenagers who have been at St Ninian's for various events.

ETA has been existence since the late 1940s. The company owed a lot, in the early years, to Charles Johnston who set the standard as a no-nonsense talented director. Charlie also encouraged the company to join the National Drama Federation Association (NDFA) and to compete south of the border in at least one NDFA full length play festival each year. The far flung festival sorties have included a range of great old theatres including The Gaiety, Isle of Man; New Theatre, Cardiff; The Harrogate Theatre and the Buxton Opera House. In 2012 the company represented Scotland at Stratford upon Avon at the Shakespeare Festival with Macbeth in Scots which they also performed on The Festival Fringe. This year ETA presented Woody Allen’s Writer’s Block, two one act plays directed by Suzie Marshall.
